Nominations open for the 2015 Wards Children's Awards for determined and inspirational youngsters

The thought of children having to triumph in the face of adversity or achieve despite a disability can often be an uncomfortable one.

But every year an extra special group of determined and courageous Kent youngsters show us all exactly how it's done.

And with the launch of the 2015 Wards Children's Awards, we are now on the lookout for this year's brave and inspiring bunch.

The awards, which take place in the autumn, are now in their 13th year.

They celebrate the efforts and achievements of lionhearted children and their families - while there is also recognition for the sterling work of the charities and fundraisers which support or care for them.

There are six categories ready to welcome nominations, each listed on the form here.

They could be in with the chance of winning a prize, not to mention the opportunity to enjoy a glittering night out at the awards evening in October, which will again be hosted by Good Morning Britain presenter Charlotte Hawkins.

For families whose lives are ruled by hospital trips, appointments and medical treatment the gala night provides them with not only the chance to relax and have fun, but also the opportunity to revel in their amazing determination and achievement - something we should all be celebrating.
