A young woman from Sevenoaks who died after being hit by two cars near Buckingham Palace has been named.

Stacey Cooke, 22, suffered fatal injuries when she was knocked down in The Mall early on Friday.

She was first hit by a black Mercedes E Class at about 2.20am.

After the driver stopped, a second car - a blue Mercedes E Class - then hit Miss Cooke and the driver fled.

A 42-year-old man, from Hendon, north London, was later arrested on suspicion of causing death by careless driving and failing to stop at the scene of the crash.
