Kent reacts: Chatham shoppers' views on plan to ban single-use plastics

Plastic straws, cotton buds and drinks stirrers could soon disappear from shelves.

It comes as there is a concern about the amount of plastic polluting the world's oceans and it is hoped the ban will help to change people's attitudes.

This is what shoppers in Chatham thought of the idea.

Pupils at a Maidstone primary school have already been invited to test paper straws after outlining concerns about plastic waste in a letter to their milk provider.
