Is Met Office expecting snow later this week in Kent?

Snow caused travel disruption this morning for commuters in Kent.

Flurries on a section of the M20 resulted in a pile-up in the early hours and police reported four crashes between junctions 8 and 9.

It comes as the Met Office has said more snow could hit Kent this week.

There is also a 30% chance of it reappearing again between 5pm and 6pm and temperatures could fall to as low as -3C.

Afterwards we are being told to expect a cold but bright Wednesday afternoon with highs of 3C and a dark and cloudy Thursday.

Motorists are being warned of freezing fog patches as well as local mist which is due to form at night.

NHS England has issued a cold weather action alert to hospitals around the country.

The notice, which is valid until 9am on Friday, February 9, says conditions pose a risk to vulnerable patients and to the disruption of services.
