Supermarket car park attack

Police are appealing for witnesses of an incident in the car park of Morrisons in Wincheap last week to come forward.

At 4.15pm on Tuesday, March 1, a 44-year-old was reversing out of a space when she saw a van parked behind her car.

She thought something was happening to her car and was approached by the passenger of the van, who shouted and swore at her and lashed out.

There were people around at the time and PC Martin Marenghi would like witnesses to call him on 01227 868375.

A 19-year-old woman from Chartham has been arrested on suspicion of assault and is currently on police bail until 24 March 2011 pending further investigation.
