People in Kent have been enjoying the chance to take in a lunar event that has not been seen for around 150 years.

The moon was flooded with colour as skywatchers witnessed an amalgamation of a supermoon and blue moon.

A blue moon is the name given to the second full moon in a month.

A 'supermoon' is when the moon appears larger and brighter, because it is closer than normal to the earth.

Many parts of the world are also being treated to a so-called blood moon - a total eclipse which causes a reddish hue.
