He's drummed on two albums for a world famous band - and now he's been in Kent helping out a couple of homegrown musicians with their new record.

Jef Van Veen, who worked on the Grammy-winning albums Speakerbox and The Love Below with Outkast, swapped his glamorous LA studio surroundings for a back garden in Strood, near Rochester, when he flew over to record with his friends Dan Isley and Keith Waterfield.

The duo, who are called D and K collectively are hoping Jeff's beats will create the same magic for their new album 'No Excuse' out in February.

Dan said it's been a great experience having their old friend drum on the tracks.

He said: "It's been absolutely fantastic working with Jef. His experience as a live player has just brought so much to the album."
