Ten things you didn't know last week

This week we found out why elephants invaded a small Kent village, and that even owls aren't safe from burglars.

1. Someone in Kent has an impressive collection of elephants. Hundreds in fact, that were left around Chilham, near Canterbury.

2. Even two and a half foot eagle owls are not safe from burglars.

3. Kent Police inadvertently recreated a scene from Hot Fuzz when a swan disrupted traffic on the M2.

4. The Kent mummy may be a boy - results from a CT scan this week will allow scientists to know for certain.

5. Wartime bombs turn up not infrequently in Kent, but this is the first time one has been discovered in the middle of a ploughing match.

6. There's a very kind and helpful employee at Edenbridge Tesco, who takes the time to help an elderly blind man with his weekly shop.

7. Almost half the people in Kent don't get their five a day.

9. One council has finally had enough of picking up deflated balloons and downed Chinese lanterns.
