Government crackdown on diesel cars

Chancellor Philip Hammond has announced a tax increase on the sale of new diesel cars that do not meet the latest emissions standards.

It is part of the government's effort to reduce noxious fumes from such vehicles that are said to cause the deaths of 40,000 people in the UK every year.

We asked shoppers in Chatham what they thought of the plan.
