Two crashes cause traffic delays on Detling Hill

Motorists are facing rush-hour chaos after two crashes on the A249 Detling Hill.

According to police, one involved up to five vehicles and blocked the carriageway on the Sittingbourne-bound side just after the BP garage.

An ambulance was also on scene to deal with injured people, although no injuries are believed to be life-threatening.

The second crash happened at the brow of Detling Hill and involved two cars and two vans. No one was hurt.

A police spokesman said: "Motorists are advised to avoid the area to allow emergency services and recovery agents to attend."

There is a diversion in place via Yelsted and traffic is said to be moving slowly.
