Two taken to hospital after M2 pile-up at Sittingbourne

Two people have been taken to hospital after a pile-up on the M2 this afternoon.

The six-vehicle crash happened on the coastbound carriageway at Sittingbourne at about 1.50pm.

Kent Police closed all three lanes for about an hour while the cars were recovered.

South East Coast Ambulance Service were called and two people were taken to hospital with minor injuries.

Traffic was at a standstill until the road was re-opened at about 2.50pm.

The smash happened just after J5 at the A249 Stockbury roundabout.
