Warning over sale of fake jewellery

KENT Police have issued a warning after reports, most recently in Herne Bay, that people have been selling fake gold jewellery on the street.

The jewellery, mostly rings, is said to be gold but when taken to a jeweller it turns out to be brass.

Herne Bay town centre officer PC Kevin O’Rourke said: “We have had four incidents reported over the last couple of months and we want to warn people that this jewellery is not gold.

"Follow your instinct – if the price appears to be good to be true, then without a doubt it is"
