Warning for heavy rain and possible thunderstorms in Kent

Heavy rain has blasted Kent for hours, after a severe weather warning was issued for the county.

Downpours started yesterday afternoon and are expected to last until 9am.

The wet conditions are in stark contrast to last week's heatwave, when highs of 33c were recorded.

The Met Office says there is a low likelihood of flooding of homes and businesses.

Roads and rail services could also be affected.

The yellow "be aware" warning is in place until 9am today.
