Rob Wills

Commodor 64: "My first gaming experience was on a Commodore 64 when I was four maybe (1990ish). Playing Pole Position. It was dad's console and it really was amazing... back then."

Sonic the Hedgehog: "In 1991 dad brought home a Sega Megadrive for me but it became clear after a few hours it was totally for him! I still remember that 'Sega' sing on the front of the games!"

Desert Strike: "I remember playing with my mum and being quite embarrassed that she was so much better than me! I was about six though so shame on her for beating a child on this game!"

Garry Wilson

Pac Man: "Classic. Simple. Addictive. Hours wasted. Vitamin D deficiencies. Wonderful."

Out Run: "In the arcade the seat moved as you steered. There was a choice of theme tunes. Anyone who was anyone chose 'Passing Breeze'."

Tetris: " On original Game Boy the thrill of getting a long one down the side. Yes! I made the Space Shuttle lift off three times."

Bust A Groove: "This was my absolute favourite video game from when I was a kid. It was a 'dance off' game where you had to do certain combinations to make your character dance and beat your opponent. My favourite character was 'Kitty N' and if you held down one of the keys when you were choosing you could change her outfit, it was very cool!"

Tekken: "I used to LOVE this. It was a fighting game, and I would spend hours trying to beat my sister. We never owned our own copy of the game but we used to go to Choice Video rental shop every couple of weeks and that would always be the game we'd choose."

Tetris: "It's a classic. I used to stay up way past my bedtime playing it on my Gameboy (a yellow and grey limited edition one don't you know!) I've recently discovered the Tetris app for iPhone and I'm hooked all over again!!"

Andy Walker

Zynapps: "This was the first game I love playing. Flying an alien spaceships, shooting the baddies."

Paperboy: "This was loaded up on cassette tape, and you just hoped it didn't crash before you were ready to play the game as it took around 20 minutes."

Sonic and Tails: "The world's most famous hedgehog had a companion in the form of a fox with two tails. More hours of fun with a 2-player option!"

Rayman: "This was the first game I ever got truly obsessed with. My sister and I were given a Playstation 1 for Christmas and we'd play it for hours at a time. It was also ridiculously hard, you could get properly frustrated with some of the levels and because of that it's one of the few games I've never completed."

Halo 3: "Initially I hated this game, because whenever I'd go online I'd get killed over and over and over again. Then I'd start having friends over after school, we'd play it online and we used to do that system link thing where you can put two Xboxs together. After loads of practice, I still kept getting killed, but not as much so I enjoyed it more. Still to this day I haven't found another game that I enjoy more with friends."

Pokemon Yellow: "I remember rushing to Toys R Us on the day this was released, waiting outside for it to open and then being ridiculously excited when I picked up a copy. I'd play it at home, I'd buy one of those awful Game Boy lights so that I could play it in bed, and I'd take it to school where we'd spend all lunch trading Pokemon (which explains why we were so useless talking to girls)."
