Sunshine causes delays in dispatching Southeastern trains

When one harassed commuter complained on Twitter about a Southeastern guard "having a meltdown", little did he expect the response.

Tom Attwood tweeted the train operator this morning, saying staff "have no idea what they are doing - guard on platform 1 is having a meltdown."

But Southeastern's response caught him by surprise - it claimed staff were having difficulty dispatching trains because of strong sunshine!

They later explained the remark, saying "the low winter sun has been hitting the dispatch monitor which prevents the driver from being able to see."

But the comment sparked ridicule on the social media platform this morning, with Yvonne Gilbert querying "is there any weather that's not an issue?"

One Twitter user calling himself MostDeaf said "is it melting the leaves?", while Billysnowmates said: "Have you tried wearing sunglasses?"

Another said it was almost as good as the "slippery rails" excuse used before Christmas.
