Mick McCarthy's Ipswich Town will be heading to Priestfield to take on Martin Allen's Gillingham

Gillingham will host Championship side Ipswich Town at Priestfield as part of their pre-season itinerary.

The visit of Mick McCarthy’s Ipswich team will present the Gills with their first big challenge of the summer.

Prior to that match they will have two double-header weekends along with a training trip to France.

Ipswich finished 14th in the championship last season. Their midweek visit will be followed by a match against Millwall and then the arrival of the Premier League’s newest team, Crystal Palace.

Gillingham’s first team players return from their summer break for their training session on Wendesday, June 26.
