Barnsley 2 Charlton Athletic 2

Charlton came from two goals down at Barnsley to pick up their first Championship point of the season.

Chris O’Grady had put the home side in front on 16 minutes, following in after Chris Dagnall had failed to convert Scott Golbourne’s cross.

Barnsley went close to a second when Jacob Mellis hit the post. At the other end, Callum Harriott forced a good save from Luke Steele.

But the Addicks trailed 2-0 early in the second half when O’Grady headed home a Mellis cross for his second goal of the game.

Jordan Cousins pulled a goal back for Charlton on 64 minutes after Barnsley had failed to clear their lines.

The equaliser arrived 18 minutes from time, Simon Church latching onto Yann Kermorgant’s lofted pass to score.
