Defender Gary Borrowdale was named on the bench against Crawley for the first time since joining Gills as he continues to work towards match fitness.
The former Crystal Palace left-back moved to Priestfield from Margate at the end of January in a bid to resurrect his Football League career.
Boss Peter Taylor said: “He’s nowhere near 90-minute fit, nowhere near it. He’s probably 35-minute fit at the minute.
“The reason I put him on there was simply because, when Michael Harriman plays, he’s another person who can go and play left-back if we need it.
“We had to have that cover and if you have your seven subs, surely one of them can be a left-back.”
