London Broncos were put to the sword by a rampant Warrington Wolves in Super League on Saturday.

The Broncos' second visit to Priestfield in as many years turned into a disaster as they were thrashed 82-10 after the visitors ran in 15 tries.

London lacked quality at either end, missing numerous scoring opportunities and gifting their opponents many of their scores with inept defending.

Admittedly, Wolves are again vying for the top spot but Broncos' second-half capitulation must have been a source of major concern for coach Tony Rea, whose side remain rooted to the foot of the table.

The visitors had already gone close twice before they took a ninth-minute lead when Chris Hill went through two non-existent tackles to go over near the posts. Inexplicably, Stefan Ratchford missed the kick from close range but he more than made amends as the afternoon went on.

Broncos, under the captaincy of Gravesend-born Tony Clubb, responded positively and had a try disallowed for a knock-on before the lively Kieran Dixon fluffed an opening in the corner. Chasing Scott Wheeldon's kick, Dixon made ground in good time but lacked composure, knocked the ball forward and failed to grab hold as he dived to ground.

The punishment was doubled within a minute as Warrington went straight up the other end and Lee Briers' clever reverse kick set-up Joel Monaghan to score. Ratchford added the extras.

A familiar pattern emerged as Broncos were again denied when Mick Higham's tackle on Chris Melling denied him a score. Within minutes, Warrington showed their clinical touch in response, Michael Monaghan scoring in the corner and Ratchford again converting.

On the half-hour, Richard Myler found the Broncos defence to his liking as he twisted and turned out of three challenges before scoring to the right of the posts. Ratchford improved his conversion rate to three in four to make it 22-0.

Michael Monaghan again went over for a converted effort before Broncos got on the scoreboard two minutes before the break, Dixon scoring in the corner as they had a man over having worked the ball from right to left. Michael Witt missed a difficult kick from the touchline.

Warrington turned up the heat in the Priestfield sunshine after the interval. Within two minutes, they kept the ball alive through at least six pairs of hands before Myler touched down and Ratchford converted.

It was soon 38-4 as Ben Westwood took advantage of some neat exchanges in a three on two break to score, although Ratchford pulled the conversion wide.

Broncos' game was quickly falling apart and for the second time, they kicked the ball straight out of play from the restart.

Ryan Atkins went over in the corner and Ratchford converted to make it 44-4 and Chris Riley made the last play count, running in out wide to make it 48-4.

Ratchford showed there was more to his game than just kicking, going through the gears to go over in the corner. When Ratchford then converted another Atkins effort, Broncos were staring at a 56-4 deficit with 20 minutes still remaining.

Broncos' James Mendeira showed plenty of desire to touch down at the other end and Witt's successful kick made it 56-10. But it merely woke up the visitors, who made Broncos pay in the final 10 minutes. Simon Grix helped himself to a hat-trick of converted efforts with Higham again going over. The end could not come soon enough for the Broncos and the majority of the 3,041 crowd.
