Bob Peeters was frustrated that his side threw away more points from a winning position.

But the Charlton boss refused to lay the blame on his players after his side conceded a late goal against Blackpool.

“Its already the eighth time we gave away a lead," he said, following a 2-2 draw.

"That’s frustrating but you can’t do anything about that. It's football and we need to continue.

“You can blame players and people make mistakes and it lost us two points but that happens.”

Charlton were heading for victory after Yoni Buyens’ penalty and Jordan Cousins’ long range effort, either side of half time, cancelled out Chris Eagles’ opener.

Steven Davies pulled out an 89 minute equaliser to rescue a point for bottom of the table side, Blackpool.

“When you are leading 2-1 in the Championship you need to keep your composure," said the manager.

"We did that but we gave away two set pieces and that cost us two points.”

Nick Pope was at fault for both Charlton goals but Peeters said this will not affect his confidence and it’s all part of the learning curve.

He said: “You concede two goals from set pieces, that is something you can’t do a lot about, especially if your players make a mistake and when your goalkeeper makes a mistake it’s a goal. He’s a young kid and he will learn from it.”

This is now the twelfth draw of the season for the Addicks and the fifth in the last seven games.

“We don’t need to look for the top six," Peeters continued. "The first thing we need to do is get a win and we will see where we are in January.

“At the moment we have a lot of difficulties to win a game even when we are leading a lot of times we give the game away.”

Peeters was, however, pleased with the sides overall performance and style of football they are playing currently.

“We still played good football and created chances," he said. "The only thing at the moment we forget to do is win the games. I think we played far worse games where we won. That is football.”
