Gillingham will kick their League 1 campaign off with a trip to MK Dons.

The new league season begins on Saturday, August 9.

A trip to Yeovil Town in the Capital One Cup is likely to be on Wednesday, August 13 and just three days later the Somerset side head to Priestfield for Gills’ first home game of the season.

Gills fans don’t have long to wait for a second home fixture, as Swindon pay a visit to Priestfield on Tuesday, August 19.

An away game at Barnsley on Saturday, August 23 means the Gills will be facing two of the three relegated teams from the Championship in their first four league games.

The festive schedule will see the Gills make the relatively short trip to Colchester United on Boxing Day before facing Bristol City on Sunday, December 28.

There is no game on New Year’s Day this season but the Gills will travel to Port Vale on Saturday, January 3.

The Gills visit title-favourites Sheffield United at the end of September and welcome the Blades to Priestfield in early February.

There is a Valentine’s Day fixture (February 14) for the Gills this year when they host MK Dons.

Gillingham face four midweek trips in 2015, with Tuesday night games at Peterborough, Swindon, Chesterfield and Preston North End.

Gillingham’s final away game of the season is against Scunthorpe United on the penultimate weekend of the season and Peter Taylor’s side end the campaign with a visit from Notts County.

The FA Cup first round is on Saturday, November 8 and round two is on December 6.
