Kent trio named in Great Britain women's hockey squad for Rabobank World Cup in Holland

Three Kent based players have been named in the 18-strong Great Britain Women's hockey  squad for the Rabobank World Cup at The Hague in Holland  later this month.

Goalkeeper Maddie Hinch is joined by Holcombe team-mate, defender Laura Unsworth, and midfielder Susannah Townsend, who has re-joined Canterbury after one season at Reading.

England, ranked three in the world,  will compete in Pool B with second placed Argentina, China, Germany, South Africa and the United States.

The tournament starts on Saturday May 31 and continues until Sunday June 15.

The squad  prepare for the competition by taking part in a four-nations round-robin tournament in Bremen, Three Kent based players have been named in the 18-strong Great Britain Women's hockey  squad for the Rabobank World Cup in Holland  later this month.Germany, starting next Thursday, involving, Australia, Japan and the host country.      

They also play Belgium twice on Friday and Saturday this week, and then China on May 23 and 24, all at Bisham Abbey.
