Round-up of Kent sides in Ryman League action on Saturday

It’s as you were at the top on Saturday night as Kent sides lead the way in Ryman League Premier Division.

Maidstone United made it eight wins from nine league games with a 4-0 cruise at 10-man Enfield Town while Margate stayed just two points behind them in second after two late goals earned them a 2-0 win at struggling AFC Hornchurch.

The Urchins have taken a single point from their nine games and are the only side below VCD Athletic, who suffered a 1-0 defeat at Canvey Island.

John Sands got the only goal for the hosts 14 minutes from time.

Tonbridge Angels produced a superb comeback from a goal down to register a 2-1 win at ambitious Leatherhead.

After a goalless first-half, Kiernan Hughes-Mason put the Tanners into the lead four minutes into the second-half, however Lee Carey had the visitors on terms before the hour mark and Billy Medlock sent the visiting fans into rapture with the winner 14 minutes from time to take Angels up to 13th.

Faversham Town rose to third in Division 1 South after thumping South Park 4-1 at Salters Lane.

The visitors actually took a 16th-minute lead, however Josh Stanford levelled within 60 seconds and it was 2-1 to the Lilywhites after 24 minutes thanks to Dave Botterill.

Jack Harris added a third seven minutes before the break and the points were sealed by Wayne Wilson midway through the second half.

Town climbed above Whyteleafe, who were held to a 1-1 draw at home by Whitstable Town, who remain unbeaten this season.

Bentley Graham put the Surrey side infront after just five minutes but Ryan Golding’s leveller on 19 minutes was enough to secure a point.

The Oystermen are seventh, one place behind Sittingbourne, who came from 1-0 down at the break at Walton Casuals to win.

Derek Tieku had Walton ahead after 24 minutes but Joe Nwoko struck seconds after the interval to square it and Tom Brunt’s goal on 52 minutes proved to be the winner.

Folkestone Invicta are eighth after battling back from 2-0 down at home to Merstham to claim a point.

Hill and Hutchings had the visitors in dreamland, however a Darren Smith penalty seconds before half-time gave the Seasiders a foothold and Jon Pilbeam set-up a grandstand finish with a leveller 13 minutes from time.

Herne Bay moved up to ninth after dramatically defeating Horsham 2-1 at Winch’s Field.

Tony Nwacukwu put the Sussex side ahead from a penalty just before the half-hour, only for Stuart King to convert from the spot moments before half-time.

The game looked set to end level until Kane Butler won it for Bay in the last minute.

Ramsgate moved up to 14th as James Sherman’s solitary goal 10 minutes from time handed the Rams a 1-0 success against Tooting & Mitcham at Southwood.

Hythe Town made it back-to-back wins and now sit 19th after a fine 3-0 win at Carshalton Athletic.

Sam Conlon set Town on their way after half an hour and Michael Yianni gave Tim Dixon’s side a two goal cushion just before the hour.

Dave Pilcher added a third a minute from time.

Thamesmead Town lost ground in Division 1 North after slipping to a last-gasp 3-2 defeat at home to Needham Market.

Tyrus Gordon-Young gave the hosts the lead after 24 minutes but the Suffolk side pegged them back through Darryl Coakley four minutes before the interval.

Rashid Kamara restored Mead’s advantage nine minutes into the second-half, however Luke Ingram restored parity after 66 minutes and George Clarke stole the points with seconds remaining at Bayliss Avenue.

Mead are now eighth, one place ahead of Chatham Town who enjoyed a 2-1 win over Redbridge at Maidstone Road.

Joe Loft put the hosts in charge 10 minutes before the break and Austin Gacheru bagged a crucial second on the stroke of half-time to put the Chats firmly in charge.

The Essex side pushed for a reply and eventually Brian Moses set-up a tense finale with a goal nine minutes from time but Town held on to claim the points.

Cray Wanderers climbed out of the bottom two with a 2-0 win at fellow struggler sgReat Wakering Rovers.

Adrian Stone put the Wands ahead midway through the first-half and Dan Stubbs made the game safe 11 minutes from time.
