Peter Taylor hasn’t ruled out making another move in the transfer market before today’s deadline.

But the Gills manager, with five loan players already on the club’s books, admits it would have to be “something special” to make him bring in another new face.

Taylor has already brought in John Mousinho, Craig Fagan, Elliott Hewitt and Donervon Daniels, since taking over the management reigns from Martin Allen, with all four playing key roles in his side.

He said: “There may be something but it is very doubtful. We have five loans and you can only play five loans and so I don’t look at anyone out there that I wouldn’t be thinking of playing.

“If I brought another loan in he would have to be special.”

Taylor confirmed the loan deal for Danny Hollands stretches until January, despite the club announcing it was only a three-month loan when he signed at the end of August from Charlton Athletic.

That ends any fears that he would be departing after Saturday’s match at Rotherham.

The recent signing of central defender Donervon Daniels meant there was no place in the squad on Tuesday night for Leon Legge but Taylor is in no rush to see anyone depart.

“We need them, we need everyone we can,” he said.

The deadline for clubs to complete loan signings is 5pm on Thursday.
