James Tredwell has been named in England’s 14-man squad for a ODI against Ireland next week and the five-match NatWest ODI series with Australia.

The spinner is already with the England t20 squad preparing to face Australia at Southampton on August 29 and at Durham two days later.

The 31-year-old Kent skipper is in the party for a warm-up game against Ireland in Dublin on Tuesday, September 3, before a five-match Natwest series against the Australians which starts on Friday, September 6, at Headingley.

Further games follow at Old Trafford on September 8, Edgbaston on September 11, Cardiff on September 14 and at the Ageas Bowl on September 16.

Tredwell was called-up while England Test spinner Graeme Swann was omitted from the party in the wake of the Ashes success, though his former Kent teammate Michael Carberry is in the squad and looking to make his England ODI debut.

Romney Marsh ace Tredwell has made 19 one-day international appearances for England, including five this summer. He has also played seven international t20s taking three wickets at 55 runs apiece.

His call-up means Tredwell will miss Kent’s games against Glamorgan, starting on Tuesday, September 3, and at home to Essex the following week, but he could return for the final two LV= County Championship Division 2 games of the season against Northants and Lancashire.
