A cocktail for Kent?
Comments |
Kent is very good at promoting its own food and drink. Produced
in Kent and its team led by Julie Monkman do a fantastic job.
But as far as I know, they have not yet come up with a
distinctive Kent cocktail. I know the county has locally brewed
beer and cider which is delicious but how about a Kent cocktail for
drinkers who think they are too sophisticated for a pint?
Copenhagen Capacity, the Locate in Kent of the Oresund region in
Denmark and Sweden, recently launched a competition for a
Copenhagen cocktail. Leading bars and restaurants were invited to
take part to find a Copenhagener.
The winning recipe includes genever, Heering cherry liqueur,
fruit juice and a cherry. It was launched at MIPIM. Quite strong
but delicious.
Copenhagen Capacity is promoting the drink and restaurants that
serve it as a way of promoting that lovely city. Jurgen Jessen, the
aimiable business development manager and stalwart of the last 10
MIPIMs, believes it will help sell the area. How about a similar
competion for a "Kentish?"
