Illegal workers found at Maidstone car wash
Comments |
Three alleged illegal workers were
detained at a Maidstone car wash during a raid by the UK Border
Agency.
A team of immigration officers targeted the Hand Car Wash at the
BP Garage on Sutton Road, on Tuesday.
After questioning staff and checking identity documents,
officers detained three men who were alleged to
have counterfeit Greek and Italian nationality documents. The
three were arrested.
A search of their home address in Wallis Avenue, Maidstone,
revealed an Albanian passport belonging to one of the men and he is
in custody awaiting removal.
The other two men have been charged with fraud offences relating
to their counterfeit IDs and have been remanded in custody.
Those arrested were employed by a franchisee working on behalf
of Hand Car Wash and not by BP.
Anyone who suspects that illegal workers are working illegally
at a business in the Kent area should contact Crimestoppers on 0800
555 111 where anonymity can be assured.
