A 22-year-old who died after falling on a live railway line in Snodland has been named.

Ashley Godmon, 22, died at around 11pm on Friday night after falling onto the track close to the level crossing.

Ashley, of Mill Street, East Malling, is believed to have been walking with friends when the tragedy happened.

Dozens of flower tributes and cards have been left close to the spot where Ashley died.

Inspector Ed Walden, of the British Transport Police, said: "At this stage this appears to have been a tragic accident which has seen a young man lose his life after falling onto the live rail.

"The incident is currently being treated as non-suspicious, and a file will be prepared for the coroner."
