Man bailed after bomb hoax at Morrisons in Maidstone

Morrisons in Maidstone was evacuated after a suspect package was found

A man has been charged after a bomb hoax caused chaos at a Maidstone supermarket last month.

David Williams, 48, of Knaves Acre, Headcorn, was charged with blackmail after a suspicious package was reported at Morrisons supermarket in Maidstone on December 10.
 
He appeared before Maidstone Magistrates’ Court today, and was released on bail.

He is due at Maidstone Crown Court on January 14.
