Allington housing plan takes step forward
An
estate of 43 houses looks set to be built on land close to the
London Road Park and Ride site.
The proposed development on the goods yard of Bunyards
Farm in Allington has been complicated by the fact that the site
straddles the boundary between Tonbridge and Malling, and Maidstone
councils.
Tonbridge and Malling granted approval for the housing
element, but the proposed access from Beaver Road had to be granted
separate permission by Maidstone council.
The land is currently used by a number of small haulage firms.
An adjacent part of the farm already has planning approval for a
nine-hole golf course, but that has never been implemented.
Bunayards Farm has a long and complicated planning history.
Previous applications have included a football stadium and a
superstore, but both came to nothing.
