Police fund for school

Pupils will be able to buy new play equipment from money
collected from police funds.
Officers presented youngsters at The Poplar Pre-School, in
Maidstone, with a cheque for £500.
The donation was taken from Kent Police's property pot, which is
made up of money generated through the sale of recovered lost
property or seized items.
Insp Paul Sellwood from the
roads policing unit presented the cheque to staff and
children yesterday.
Insp Sellwood said: “The Poplar
Pre-School is very local to my team’s base at Coldharbour in
Aylesford and it’s great to be able to support a local
organisation.
"When property is unclaimed we sell
it at auction and the proceeds allow us to support so many
different organisations and charities.
"In this case, the money will enable
them to purchase equipment that will benefit the children’s
development and it was a pleasure to meet the staff and present the
cheque.”
