by Anna White

Tributes have been left at the scene where tragic teenager Alfie Carey was hit by a car.

Flowers, candles, photos and notes now cover a tree on the green in Calder Road, Maidstone, where the 17-year-old was struck by a car on Friday evening.

A black Hyundai car was travelling along the one-way stretch of the road when it collided with the boy around 6pm.

The teenager was taken to the Royal London Hospital shortly after the crash at 6pm but died about 24 hours later.

Anyone who saw the incident of who has any information is asked to contact the Serious Collision Investigation Unit at Kent Police on 01622 798538.

Friday's Kent Messenger will carry full tributes to Alfie.
