Christmas campaign is coming

You Can Help

by Angela Cole

Christmas is coming and as we all stock up on presents for our loved ones it’s also time to spare a thought for those in need of a helping hand.
The Kent Messenger’s annual campaign, You Can Help, will launch later this month, in conjunction with the Maidstone Day Centre in Knightrider Street.
Each year we collect cans of food for the homeless, together with other donations which can help those who have fallen on hard times.
Donations usually include warm, winter clothing, toiletries and festive goodies.
Dozens of schools in the area got on board last year, along with supermarkets, pubs and clubs.
If you would like to get involved and provide a collection point for the campaign this year, contact the Friends of Maidstone Day Centre by emailing contact@homelessinmaidstone.org.uk or call trustee Angela Clay on 01622 844481 or Mike FitzGerald on 01622 743270.
More details of the campaign will be published in the KM in the coming weeks.
