Fireworks fun goes with a bang
The skies over West Kent lit up at the weekend as dozens of
Bonfire Night celebrations went off with a bang.
Thousands of people headed to Leeds Castle for its
‘Spooktacular’-themed fireworks display on both Saturday and Sunday
November 3 and 4, with a range of children’s activities, live music
and stalls keeping visitors entertained throughout the afternoon
and into the evening.
Fire eaters wowed the crowds who gathered at Kent
Life in Lock Lane, Sandling, on Saturday night for the annual
firework display.
Delicious hot potatoes and a Dress the Guy competition were
among the highlights enjoyed at the Spuds and Sparkles evening at
St Martin’s Church, Shepway, while at St Margaret’s Church in
Barming, cups of hot soup were handed out to keep visitors feeling
toasty.
Other events which attracted big crowds were the fireworks
display at Larkfield Village Hall in New Hythe Lane and, for the
first time, at the Elizabeth Harvie Field in Bearsted.
The Hop Farm also proved popular, with thousands heading to
Paddock Wood for the annual display.
