Council tax could rise
Council tax payers in Maidstone may have to pay more from
April.
Maidstone council is set to consider a proposal
to increase council tax from April, for the first
time in two years, when it meets on Wednesday, February
27.
The cabinet is recommending a 1.9% rise, or £4.23 a year for a
Band D taxpayer.
The 8p a week increase is within the government’s threshold for
council tax increases.
