Fire crews tackle blaze at barn in Sevenoaks Weald

Fire Engine Stock Fire crews have been fighting a major blaze in a Kent barn.

Around 20 firefighters were called to Hubbards Hill in the Sevenoaks Weald at 10pm last night after 100 tonnes of straw caught alight.

Four fire appliances and a water management unit fought the blaze.

Four cows were led to safety and a nearby barn was cleared of livestock.

Crews worked to prevent the fire from spreading, using hose reel jets, a positive pressure ventilation fan, water from a nearby pond and COBRA, a new fire fighting system.

The cause of the fire is not yet known. No-one has been injured.
