Woman, 102, housebound after thieves steal walking frame in Wrotham
A 102-year-old woman has been left a prisoner in her
own home after thieves swiped her walking frame.
Freda McGregor is said to be virtually housebound after the
theft - sometime between December 19 and December 21.
Mrs McGregor, who lives in a retirement complex off West
Street in Wrotham, last saw her frame outside her front door at 9am
on December 19. She discovered it was missing at 11am on December
21.
Worth £177, it has four wheels, a basket, a seat and is described
as black or dark-coloured.
PC Ben Foskett from the Tonbridge and Malling Neighbourhood
Policing Unit is leading the investigation to find the missing
frame.
"This is an item of particular importance to an elderly lady who struggles to get about without it, and it is worth far more to her than the person who has taken it" – PC Ben Foskett
House-to-house
enquiries have been conducted and he is now appealing
for witnesses to come forward.
He said: "This is an item of particular importance to an elderly
lady who struggles to get about without it, and it is worth far
more to her than the person who has taken it.
"We would be grateful for any information leading to its return
or the identification of any offenders."
