Maintenance man Ian Phipps appears in court on historic rape charges
A maintenance man denied committing two stranger rapes several
years ago when he appeared at Maidstone Crown Court today.
Ian Phipps, of Hurricane Road, West Malling, is alleged to have
attacked a woman at Wrotham Hill on June 6 1991 and a Halling
schoolgirl on January 8 1986.
The 49-year-old, who was arrested in October last year, was
remanded in custody and will stand trial on April 15.
