Camels will be rubbing shoulders with more traditional
livestock at this year’s Kent County Show.
This summer’s event at the Kent Showground in Detling, near
Maidstone, which will be held on Friday, July 12, Saturday, July
13, and Sunday, July 14, will feature Joseph’s Amazing Racing
Camels in the main ring; a new-look area with ferrets, ponies and
gun dogs, and a Spitfire flypast.
The 2013 show, organised by the Kent County Agricultural Society,
will also have birds of prey, a sheep show and a new Country and
Game area where there will be more than 900 exhibits.
The Kent Spitfire will be flying overhead at 12.30pm each of the
three days.
Show manager Lucy Hegarty, who will be running the show for the
first time, said: “The Kent County Show is a wonderful day out for
all ages.”
New for this year is a pre-paid family ticket which costs £37,
compared to £45 on the gate.
