The Red Arrows fly past Headcorn Aerodrome
Preparations are well under way for this year’s Combined Ops Weekend.
It will be the sixth year that Headcorn Aerodrome has hosted the spectacular display of military vehicles and aircraft.
The two-day show will feature a variety of vintage and modern aircraft displays, both on the ground and in the air.
There will be static military vehicles, living history re-enactment groups, arena events, military stalls and children’s mini tanks, plus plenty of refreshment stalls.
The show will include a fly-past by a Lancaster and Spitfire from the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight, as well as displays by the Stampe Formation team, the Turbulent Team and an P51 Mustang.
There will also be the chance to fly in a Dragon Rapide, which itself is nearly 70 years old.
Many visitors to the show take the opportunity to dress in wartime clobber.
The event takes place on Saturday and Sunday, August 16 and 17.
Tickets are on sale now at a discount price of £8 for adults and £6 for children. Under 5s are free.
