Police investigating an attempted theft in a supermarket car park urge people to be vigilant
Two men have been arrested following reports of attempted distraction thefts in Maidstone.
Police launched an investigation after a woman was approached by two men in Morrisons supermarket car park in Sutton Road, Maidstone, asking for directions to Maidstone hospital on Monday July 22.
When she became suspicious, they fled.
In early September, following an activation by automatic number plate recognition (ANPR) cameras in Southampton, two men were arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to commit theft from a motor vehicle. They were later released on police bail while investigations continue.
Police have released some advice to combat being a victim of crime, including keeping your PIN secure when at cash machines; keeping your valuables secure, and reporting any stolen cards immediately.
