Yalding floods once again with homes in Little Venice Country Park in Hampstead Lane evacuated
Yalding was one of the worst places to be hit in the recent floods
Residents of Yalding have woken up to find flood water in their homes for the second time in nine days.
The River Beult, which runs through the heart of the village, burst its banks yesterday with flood levels peaking at 7am this morning, according to the environment agency.
The Little Venice Caravan Park was evacuated before flood waters moved in and sandbags were handed to residents ahead of the on rush.
The Environment Agency has placed two flood warnings on the area, which cover the River Beult from Pluckley and Bethersden to Hampstead Lock and the River Medway between Hampstead Lock and Allington Lock.
Property flooding is not anticipated in the Maidstone area, where the peak is significantly lower than on Christmas Day.
It is anticipated that river levels will now drop through the day.
