Tonbridge Angels boss Tommy Warrilow admits new signing Meschach Nugent's injury is a blow

Tonbridge have suffered a major blow with new signing Meshach Nugent nursing a suspected hairline shin fracture.

The former Maidstone and VCD marksman was injured in last week’s 3-0 win at Margate, and boss Tom Warrilow admitted he fears the worse.

Warrilow (pictured)  said: "He has only started three games for us and it’s not good losing him straightaway. We are waiting to have it confirmed, but he could be missing for at least another fortnight.

"It was a horrendous challenge and had he not been wearing a shin pad, it could have broken his leg. The gash was deep and wide."

Warrilow is preparing for six matches in the next 14 days, which he describes as "testing" for his small squad.

He said: "I only had two substitutes available against Hendon last week, so had to draft in Luke Blewden from the reserves, and Tom Bryant who got on.

"I thought we should have wrapped the game up by half-time because we had enough chances. The second half was a bit scrappy, but it was another point and a clean sheet so I cannot be too despondent."

On-loan Dartford striker Adam Burchell will be staying at the club for another week, while skipper Anthony Storey should be back for the visit of Canvey in the Ryman League Premier Division tomorrow (Saturday). Marc Cumberbatch faces a fitness test on his groin problem.

The Angels have picked up in the last few games and it would be a shame if Mesh was out for too long.
With Burchell due to leave in a week they need some more fire power to prevent sliding in to the relegation dogfight.

My question is: Are there enough coughers to bring anyone else in who will make a difference?
