Tonbridge Angels 1 Hayes & Yeading 1

Rory Hill

Tonbridge Angels came from behind to draw with Hayes & Yeading and extend their unbeaten run to five matches.

The home side had goalkeeper Lee Worgan to thank for a string of outstanding saves in a first-half dominated by the visitors. Worgan kept out Pedro Monteiro’s header and then held on to a Luke Williams shot before doing brilliantly to deny Daniel Wishart.

Hayes struck on the hour mark when former Gillingham midfielder Mark Bentley nodded home Wishart’s cross from close-range.

Tonbridge were level on 73 minutes. George Purcell made ground down the left wing and cut the ball back to Rory Hill, pictured, who lashed a shot into the net.

Olly Schulz had a headed goal disallowed as the Angels went in search of a winner and Hill hit the crossbar with the final kick of the game.

The Angels are 13th in Blue Square Bet South, just four points outside the play-offs.
