Tonbridge Angels boss Tommy Warrilow ponders loan move for Mikel Suarez

by Craig Tucker
Mikel Suarez could make his
Tonbridge comeback against Farnborough – the team Angels were
playing when he suffered his head injury last October.
But there’s also a chance he will be
going out on loan ahead of Angels’ Blue Square Bet South game at
home to Boro on Saturday.
Boss Tommy Warrilow revealed the
striker would have played on Tuesday night but Angels’ Kent Senior
Cup, quarter-final against Bromley was postponed due to a
waterlogged pitch.
And with Warrilow due to release two
players to ease pressure on club finances on Thursday, the door
could be open for Suarez unless he’s sent out on loan.
Warrilow said: "Mikel’s chomping at
the bit to play and would have had at least half an hour in the cup
game.
"I’ve been the one saying to him ‘Are
you sure you’re ready?’ He’s ticked off all the medical tests and
trained well, so the next step is a game.
"It wouldn’t do any harm if I named
him on the bench against Farnborough.
"There are clubs who will take him on
loan but we also have a lot of reserve games coming up so he could
stay and get his match fitness back with us."
Tonbridge's hopes of reaching
the play-offs were boosted this week when Farnborough
were deducted four points for fielding an ineligible
player.
