Tonbridge Angels manager Tommy Warrilow full of praise for new signing Nathan Green

By Craig Tucker
Manager Tommy Warrilow praised new signing Nathan Green after
Tonbridge closed to within four points of the Blue Square Bet South
play-off places.
Left-back Green, who has joined from Billericay, made his debut
as Angels moved up to ninth with a 1-0 home win over Havant on
Tuesday.
It was Green’s corner that was handled by Ed Harris, leading to
Frannie Collin’s 28th-minute penalty winner.
Warrilow (pictured) said: "I’d been monitoring Nathan since we
drew 3-3 at Billericay in September and decided the time was right
to bring him in.
"He can play left-back or left-wing. He’s hungry, strong, has
loads of pace and a great left foot. As a young lad there are
things to work on but he’s a real menace and it was a good
debut."
Angels take on Maidenhead at Longmead on Saturday with Warrilow
insisting there’s no reason why his side can’t make the
play-offs.
Tonbridge are still only five points off second-bottom but the
manager is looking up rather than down.
Warrilow said: "Three or four clubs have stolen a march but the
rest of us are in with a shout and that’s why it’s so important to
stay positive and keep banging the drum.
"Look at Basingstoke, who came through as the surprise package
last season and reached the play-offs. There’s no reason why we
can’t do that."
