Mikel Suarez back in training with Tonbridge Angels

by Craig Tucker
Tonbridge Angels have welcomed Mikel Suarez back to
training less than three months after the striker was released from
intensive care.
Suarez was taken to hospital on October 13 after clashing heads
with team-mate Lee Browning during Tonbridge’s 4-1 defeat at
Farnborough.
The 26-year-old regained consciousness a week later and released
a statement in November thanking staff, players and fans for their
support.
Now, Angels manager Tommy Warrilow (pictured) is optimistic the
Spaniard could pull on the blue Angels shirt before the end of the
season.
He said: "Mikel has started training. He’s been jogging round
the pitch and he’s had his final check-ups at the hospital.
"I’m not going to push Mikel back in straight away but it’s nice
to see him back among it. Hopefully we’ll see him back before the
end of the season."
Suarez’s progress is more good news in a week which has seen the
Angels win back-to-back home games for the first time this
season.
Centre-back Olly Schulz should be fit despite injuring his neck
against Maidenhead, while Danny Walder and Henry Muggeridge are
back after suspension.
