Maidstone United 3 Enfield Town 0
Two goals from Rory Hill helped Maidstone United beat 10-man Enfield 3-0 to move a point clear in the Ryman League Premier Division on Saturday afternoon.
Winger Hill opened the scoring from close range on 59 minutes after Frannie Collin worked his way to the byline and pulled the ball back across the six-yard box.
Stones doubled their advantage on 77 minutes through Fabio Saraiva's deflected free-kick from 20 yards following a foul on new boy Jack Harris.
Saraiva impressed with some eye-catching long-range passes after replacing Michael Phillips midway through the second half.
But it was a clever six-yard ball from the substitute which set up United's third, Hill turning smartly and lashing into the far corner.
Zac Attwood looked set to put Stones ahead inside two minutes after latching on to a through ball but he had too much time to make a decision and hit goalkeeper Noel Imber's legs.
A superb first-time strike from Attwood was palmed over soon after and when the Stones striker did find the net on 15 minutes, referee Moody pulled back play for a foul on Jack Sullivan, who had run on to Collin's pass and sent in a low cross to the near post.
Enfield were reduced to 10 men after just 31 minutes. Right-back Jordan Lockie had already been booked but when he chopped down Phillips, he was shown a straight red card.
It needed a touch from Lee Worgan to keep out Corey Whitely's free-kick with the game still goalless.
The visitors opened up after falling behind and missed two golden chances to equalise.
First, Mark Kirby sent a free header over from Dave Kendall's corner, then Tyler Campbell stabbed wide after Stones got in a muddle on the edge of their own box.
