Video: Knitted meerkats off on world tour

Two knitted meerkats have embarked on a world tour.

Cuddly twosome Treasure and Etta said farewell to their creator Heather Leavers and set off on a global adventure that will see them visit Israel, Estonia, Turkey, Canada and up to dozen US states.

The meerkats are from Mrs Leavers’ business, Nifty Knits.

From her home in St Michael’s, Tenterden, she creates knitted meerkats and other gifts, which sell around the world via her website, www.niftyknits.co.uk

Mrs Leavers of Grange Crescent is a member of ETTEAM, which in turn is part of Etsy, an online community for craftspeople who sell their wares around the globe via the website www.etsytreasuryteam.blogspot.com

Anyone wanting to keep track of the meerkats can follow their progress at www.niftyknits-somuchyarnsolittletime.blogspot.com or at www.facebook.com/pages/NiftyKnits-Meerkat-World-Tour/168113137551.

Awesome, they are welcome to visit me in sunny Florida anytime. I will take them out on the airboats to meet some alligators and egrets (birds)then off to the beach to catch some sunshine before a quick dip in the ocean. Followed by a lovely BBQ of scorpions (meerkats treats)

Thanks so much for this - I shall send it on so the meerkats can see they've not been forgotten!
