Hunt for the best Christmas decorations in the borough

Arthur Hull's
eye-catching display in 2011
Deck the halls with boughs of holly
– and cover the front of your house with Christmas lights.
That is what many of you will be
doing this weekend as you get in the spirit – and it could win you
£100.
The Kentish Express wants to track
down the area’s most eye-catching Christmas lights displays.
Dobbies Garden Centre in Eureka
Leisure Park, Ashford, is offering the winner £100 worth of
vouchers, plus two £50 prizes for the runners-up.
We are looking for the sparkliest,
brightest and best decorated houses (or group of houses) that we
can highlight in a special picture feature in the run-up to
Christmas.
So if you have an impressive
Christmas lights display or have seen one that you think our
readers would like to admire, then please get in touch.
We made the same appeal last year
and were amazed and delighted by some of the efforts that residents
on our patch go to ensure their homes look stunning for
Christmas.
Perhaps the most glowing example we
uncovered last year was the creation of Arthur Hull, who
transformed his family’s Stowting Common home with a sleigh and
three reindeer on the roof, 159 metres of rope lights, 1,150
lightbulbs and 1,680 LED bulbs (pictured above).
Ashford’s Dobbies is one of the
area’s most magical festive destinations in the run-up to
Christmas.
The garden centre stocks a range of
freshly cut and artificial Christmas trees, the latest decorations
and lights for the home and garden, as well as exclusive gifts for
all the family.
Customers can also craft their own
gift hampers with foods from Dobbies Farm Foodhall or gifts from
the garden centre.
So if you have put together an
impressive Christmas lights display or your neighbour has decked
their house with hundreds of lightbulbs, or you’ve passed a lit-up
property that’s caught your eye, email us at kentishexpress@thekmgroup.co.uk
or call us on 01233 623232
